Job Overview:
Are you a skilled NDT professional with a passion for ensuring safety and quality? We are looking for a skilled and certified Immersion Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II Operator to join our Nondestructive Testing team. The candidate must possess thorough knowledge and expertise in immersion ultrasonic inspection using a 6 axis automated system and comply with aerospace standards. This role requires the ability to perform immersion ultrasonic inspections on a variety of materials to ensure product quality and safety. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with industry standards and ensuring the integrity of components.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Immersion Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Execute immersion ultrasonic tests on materials such as metals, composites, and welds in strict adherence to IntegriTesting’s Written Practice, the established procedures, engineering specifications, and both Customer and aerospace requirements.
- Standardize and Set Up Equipment: Set up, standardize, and adjust immersion ultrasonic testing equipment in accordance with established procedures, and relevant customer or industry specifications. Ensure equipment functionality and maintain calibration records as required.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately collect, document, analyze, and interpret test results, ensuring that all findings are properly recorded in line with aerospace and customer’s documentation requirements. Identify, classify, and assess potential defects, discontinuities, and inconsistencies.
- Interpretation and Evaluation: Interpret test results to determine the presence, size, and location of discontinuities or defects in materials. Evaluate test data for compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and codes, and determine the necessary course of action.
- Documentation and Reporting: generate detailed inspection reports, providing clear and concise information regarding findings, testing procedures, equipment used, and any recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure that all documentation meets the stringent record-keeping and quality control requirements of the aerospace industries.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on ultrasonic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety and Quality Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company-specific safety protocols. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards related to nondestructive testing and quality control.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, offering feedback and suggestions.
- Collaboration with Team: Work collaboratively with other NDT personnel, engineers, and supervisors to ensure that inspection procedures are followed accurately, and results are communicated effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferably an associate’s degree or certification in Nondestructive Testing, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Certification: Must be able to be certified as NDT Level II in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in accordance with the SNT-TC-1A 2024, and NAS 410 standards.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience performing ultrasonic testing, preferably in industries requiring NADCAP accreditation (e.g., aerospace, automotive, manufacturing). Experience with a variety of materials such as metals, composites, and welded joints is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge NADCAP requirements, as well as relevant ASTM, ISO, and industry-specific codes and standards. Proficiency with ultrasonic testing equipment, including transducers, pulser/receivers, and data acquisition systems.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision in identifying, recording, and analyzing test results to detect material flaws. Strong ability to interpret complex data and make appropriate evaluations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle and lift ultrasonic testing components weighing up to 40 lbs. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Safety Compliance: A thorough understanding of safety procedures for both ultrasonic testing and general workplace safety, with a commitment to adhering to all required safety standards.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to document findings and report results clearly to supervisors and clients. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
Desired Skills:
- Cross-Disciplinary NDT Experience: Familiarity with other NDT methods (e.g., radiographic, eddy current, dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle, visual ) is beneficial.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues with equipment, testing methods, or results.
- Customer-Focused: Ability to work within client specifications, ensuring full compliance with aerospace and customer requirements.
